About the Band
Greg Hoeth & Alan Chavis
Welcome to the official virtual home of The Altacoustics, a Western Slope, Colorado-based acoustic duo that performs 90s and early-2000s alt rock covers, as well as originals, in an “unplugged,” acoustic style.
The Altacoustics features Alan Chavis on lead guitar, bass and vocals and Greg Hoeth on lead vocals and rhythm guitar.
Alan and Greg have been playing & singing live music for a combined 40-plus years, and have been jamming out at venues throughout Grand Junction, Fruita, and Palisade since forming their duo in late-2022.
An accomplished guitarist, Alan also plays lead guitar in Colorado-based alternative rock group The Platonics. Originally from Oklahoma, Alan moved to Colorado in 2010 and has lived in Fruita since 2021.
Greg is a singer-songwriter (Home Page, Spotify) and former frontman for Cleveland, OH-based band, 13-13. A Cleveland native, Greg moved to Grand Junction in early-2022.
